About 'watch doctor who episode'|Where can I watch doctor who for free
I mostly love to watch the British science fiction show Doctor Who. I cannot assert that I am an uberfan who has seen every episode countless times. I have watched off and on for over twenty years, especially since the rebirth of the program in 2005. Doctor Who is a typical British science fiction show in that the show always seems to be based around England, even if they travel to other worlds, with the companions of The Doctor being mostly British. The time traveling Doctor is almost always accompanied by companions, humans typically, that help in his many adventures. I have read several of the Doctor Who novels that have been released, especially since the 2005 rebirth, but only recently have I discovered a line of comics by IDW, an American comic book publishing company founded in 1999. The company produces Doctor Who comics and other comics based on television programs like Star Trek, Angel, CSI, Transformers, G.I. Joe, and 24. The series of comics is called "Doctor Who-The Forgotten" and is a six-issue mini-series that claims to include all ten of The Doctor's incarnations. This was enough to intrigue me. The series was written by British writer Tony Lee with art work provided for most of the series by Canadian comic book artist Pia Guerra, although Stefano Martino provided artwork for issue 3. Issue one was entitled "Part 1-Amputation" and has our familiar Doctor (the 10th incarnation of the Time Lord played by David Tennant) and his companion Martha Jones (played on screen by Freema Agyeman) in a strange museum. Walking through the museum they both discover it is a Museum that focuses not only on Time Lords from the planet Gallifrey but specifically The Doctor. The Doctor's memory is failing him and Martha finds a cane that once belonged to his 1st incarnation (played on television by William Hartnell). The Doctor remembers an adventure with his granddaughter Susan Foreman (Carol Ann Ford) and the two teachers from that first season Ian Chesterton (William Russell) and Barbara Wright (Jacqueline Hill) in the 26th Century B.C. and Menkaure's Pyramid in Egypt. We get to see the force behind The Doctor's imprisonment in this museum and his memory loss, a bearded man in the shadows, possibly The Master (as portrayed by Anthony Ainley). Issue two, "Part 2-Renewal", finds The Doctor losing more and more of his memory, while Martha tries to find objects to help jog is memory. The recorder he used as his 2nd incarnation (Patrick Troughton) brings back memories of battles against an Alvarian Space Wyrm with Jamie McCrimmon (Frazer Hines) and Zoe Heriot (Wendy Padbury). The keys to Bessie, the yellow roadster he drove during his 3rd incarnation (Jon Pertwee), bring back memories of fighting giant robotic spiders with companions Jo Grant (Katy Manning) and The Brigadier, Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart (Nicholas Courtney). During the reminiscence in the museum, The Doctor and Martha are attacked by an Auton, a mindless automated being. Issue three, "Part 3-Misdirection", has Martha giving The Doctor a bag of jelly babies, a popular British confectionary, which prompts The Doctor to remember an encounter in his 4th incarnation (Tom Baker) when he and Romana (Lalla Ward), a female Time Lord, traveled to Paris again and met Taureau the Minotaur in the sewers beneath Paris. A cricket ball reminds The Doctor of an adventure with Turlough (Mark Strickson) and Tegan (Janet Fielding) meeting the Judoon, a humanoid police race very similar to in appearance to the rhinoceros. This appearance was the best, so far, in the series. The Judoon first appeared in the opening third season episode "Smith and Jones", in which The Doctor meets Martha Jones for the first time. These were not classic Doctor Who series aliens and to have a previous incarnation meet and have had experience with them was fantastic. We know from The Doctor's reaction in that third season episode that he was familiar with The Judoon, but this little scene shows us how he felt and dealt with them then. I will not continue to give you information on the rest of this series. I urge you to seek out the issues and read them. They are delightful. I will give you a few spoiler glimpses into the end of the series, but beware, everything is not what it seems. The first part is that Martha Jones is not really Martha Jones. And the shadowy figure behind all this evil is not The Master. You will be surprised, very surprised, by who the shadowy figure is. It is not a character from the Classic Series but a character from Season 4 of the current show. Let me know what you think when you find out. |
